With a grandiose Grand Opening Party, KaDeWe celebrated its 115th birthday and the reopening of the successfully renovated areas in the entire building in grand style on the night of 16 November 2022.
More than 2,000 guests celebrated at the exclusive party, which was attended by high-profile personalities such as Anna Maria Mühe, Riccardo Simonetti, Palina Rojinski, Alexandra Neldel, Petra van Bremen, Kim Fisher, Hadnet Tesfai and the who’s who of the Berlin scene from fashion, lifestyle, business and culture, as well as business partners and friends of the store.
On this birthday night, KaDeWe is the hippest club in the city: guests celebrated on three floors until the early hours of the morning, dancing to the sounds of No Frills, actor and DJ Lars Eidinger and influencer Caro Daur, who made her debut as a DJ at KaDeWe and DJed together with DJ and producer Wolfram. The Berlin turntable artist DJ Gigola played until the end of the big party night at two in the morning.
To celebrate the 115th birthday of the department store icon, a birthday cake befitting its status was presented: The 6-storey masterpiece with a length of 2m, a width of 1m and a height of 2.20m as well as the new, architecturally unique escalator in KaDeWe as a central element, was made in the in-house confectionery and cut and distributed to the guests by KaDeWe Group CEO André Maeder and the General Manager of KaDeWe Timo Weber together with Riccardo Simonetti and Palina Rojinski.
A brilliant evening that combined tradition and the future and heralded the 2022 Christmas season. For the Grand Opening, the luxury brand DIOR decorated the shop windows of KaDeWe with an exquisite scenery and created an enchanting Christmas atmosphere with an exclusive pop-up store on 270 m2 with various accessories and bags from the Dior Cruise collection 2023 in the Women’s Designer Department at KaDeWe.
In the pop-up area’s white and blue décor, brought to life with celestial motifs and ornate embellishments and underpinned with delicate golden tones, customers can explore the beauty of dreams come true and immerse themselves in a winter world detached from everyday life.
